I've said this once...and I'm sure I'll say it again. I know I mentioned to someone along the line that SCHOOL is still in during May and it's really really hard for those of us with kidlings to get away during that time. I promised my own that I'd never go to another con during school. I missed too much stuff during PR. I guess I'll strike Leaky Con off the list.
It would be nice but i doubt i'll find free international airline tickets in my letterbox. They were actually planning a conference in Australia for last January, but it got cancelled :(
It was on the other side of Australia but a few of us were planning on going as a group. Australia is a bit sucky when it comes to conferences - in that we really don't have any quality fandom ones.
Did get to go to a conference on transport needs for the timber industry. Not the same thing, but i got my photo on the news that night as i was looking like i was taking some serious notes at the conference. Glad the cameraman didn't see my page. I was sketching up patterns for HP quilt blocks and working out a plan for some HP knitting projects ;)
YAYAYYAAYYAYAYAYYAAYYA! How is it that I didn't see your LeakyCon pimpage earlier?! I'm SOO beyond excited...and we are going to have a LOT of fun!
Jen - I'm sorry that you can't make it...I totally understand with school and kids and stuff. We planned it for over Memorial Day weekend, hoping that would help people with kids to plan on attending. It sucks, and I'm sorry that you won't be able to make it. I'm still in awe of your glitter shoes and matching mask. Amazing.
I would love to be there! I live in WA state so that is such a strech, could have done the Chicago one cause I am from there and would have a place to stay but I didn't! I so want to go to one!
