So I haven't really posted what I've been up to since my trip to Memphis, except for a couple of projects. Time to show you what I've been accomplishing :D Err, and yes, these are all only since I came back the beginning of July

Made these today not only to wear on my trip this week, but as entries for HPKCHC Muggle Studies and the [community profile] starknuts July Challenge
Temperatures are reaching 105-110 degrees F in Oklahoma.  But they're releasing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in theatres so what do you wear?  Flipflops.  comfortable and cool.  But plain flipflops just don't have pizzazz.  What's a girl to do?

Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for another episode of "Pimp My Flipflops".  In today's show, we turn a pair of plain black flipflops into Huzzah Hufflepuff Flipflops using this simple and quick pattern found here, courtesy of Lion Brand Yarn.

This week, with no computer at work till it was repaired, I've spent time crafting to avoid the frustration it was causing with things I couldn't get done.

So on [profile] card_challenges , though the June Challenge mentioned Dads and Grads, I have neither in my family this year. Both Joe's and my father's are no longer on this side and my son don't graduate till next year. Make the card now and I'll never ever find it next year! *grins*

So I made a card that can be used to just say 'hi' or encourage - an all occasion card - using the Gate Method

In the meantime, using the miuku the cat pattern, my entry for the June Challenge over at [community profile] starknuts is inspired by the greatest inspiration ever,[profile] fabulous_catt herself.

The assignment this month for Herbology involved gillyweed and the oxygen bubbles as a result. We were to show these in use of the bobble stitches. Here's my completed assignment

While searching for gillyweed to harvest for potions class, I came across a rather surprising sight. It seems there is a Hufflepuff alumni that enjoys returning - via the lake - to take in the quidditch games and cheer on her house to which she still is loyal. On this day, she was wearing her rather lovely, hand crocheted bobble stitch house scarf and was kind enough to allow me to take photographs which I share with you now. For it seems, dear professor, that Loch Ness Monster, also known as Nessie, is a graduate of Hogwarts, House of Hufflepuff!

Another photo of the lovely scarf she wore to see the bobbles in every stripe!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, over the past few weeks, I have been the recipient of some fabulous Squee Mail that I can finally share pictures with you now.

Well almost .... I wasn't as patient as others and ate Jen's delicious candies before taking photos :D

Well the first one wasn't actually mailed but my husband's gift for me this year.  He found me a black and silver stocking and a mini one that is black, silver and red.  Three Christmas cds -- Christmas with the Rat Pack, TSO Walmart special edition, and The Three Tenors.  Finally, he got me the original Miracle on 34th Street on DVD.  My three children went together and bought me a new 7mp digital camera for Christmas along with a 2gb memory card :D I have been using it since and it really makes a difference in the photos !

Peek now! )

Some wonderful squee mail from the Crafty Witches, starting with [profile] jennbrad52  a beaded dragon necklace and a hufflepuff crocheted purse!

And of course, there was the package from [personal profile] hp5freak  which contained floo powder, crayons, Hufflepuff wristwarmers and a lovely crocheted snowflake as well as a surprise from [personal profile] quietish  in the form of rum balls and beautiful yarn and the cutest ornament photo of one of her hobbits! Once again, [profile] lezlishae  proved herself Queen of Spellotape (electrical/duct tape) with a Hufflepuff Christmas Card!! While made golden snitch ornaments that she sent with little koala and Aussie calender.

Crafty Witches ROCK! )

1. What Hogwarts house have you been sorted into? HUFFLEPUFF

2. List your favorite double-point needle brands, including size and length. Or would you prefer circulars?  DPN's Well, my dream set would be ebony wood needles.  However, I use Clover and Brittany wood DPN's and Susan Bates metal.  I NEVER use circulars :D

3. Would you like to try a new brand needle? If so, which brand? Size? Length?  Lantern Moon Ebony Size US 8, 9 or 10 Usually 6 or 8 inch

4. If you are a RAVENCLAW, do you prefer the colors in the film or the book? Do you have a strong preference? N/A

5. Do you have any allergies?  None

6. If you are swapping scarves - what is your desired length for the pattern? This will help your partner find the pattern that is just right for you and buy yarn accordingly.   Well, I'm a large sized woman so whatever scarf pattern it is, I would need to make it long to go around my neck properly.  Probably about 70" I would guess.

Well, the owl arrived this past Saturday with my kit from Lori... too bad I was in Austin *lol* I had gone to a friend's on Friday and we went to a DH Release Party in Georgetown TX -- I as Molly Weasley and she as Tonks.

However, When I got home Sunday night this is what I found!!!

Lori! Thank you SO VERY MUCH!! Everything was awesome and I loved it!

Beth's owl left here this morning with her package as I had to wait on her yarn which arrived while I was gone also :)

SQUEEEEEEEEEE :D

Someone on The Leaky Cauldron Lounge staff got the idea that we should all get pedicures this weekend. Well for once, I was actually ahead of the plan as I had just gotten one that day. We have a beauty college in Poteau and for under $30 I can get facial, wax, pedicure and manicure and that's even with the tip! Had done so as part of my 'recovery' from my 16 day marathon trip.

Someone else got the idea of pedicures and flipflops...from there it went to decorating flipflops and then decorating them in house colors. So it is I present to you my Hufflepuff Flip Flops!

Yep, been a few days.  Partly because I spent Easter weekend being sick with a cold.  Partly cause I've been keeping busy

This is 4 of the 123 Ashie's I've completed and sent to [profile] ofenjen

Jen is going to be weaving in ends and gluing on eyes for her crewmates in Lumien House.

Finished will be something like this

Although we see the eyes do need to be bigger........  And no, this is not the "secret project"  She and I have been working on!  That's still a secret!

Had some SQUEE mail come from [profile] jewells68 Monday.  A hufflepuff tie, a very pretty Pontalbon scarf, some badge holders for my siggy tag that [profile] lezlishae made for me that I made into a nametag for PR, a mask base AND Vladimir the puffskein!

*cuddles Vladimir*

Oh and did I mention I started two more molly sweaters, got the cap for 4 sleeves done last night!

Now back to the ashies and then at 200, on to green crocheted music notes!!!
