So I haven't really posted what I've been up to since my trip to Memphis, except for a couple of projects. Time to show you what I've been accomplishing :D Err, and yes, these are all only since I came back the beginning of July
Warning: clicking this link could be hazardous to a dial up connection! )

Ok as [profile] ofenjen and [profile] jennbrad52  have already posted, the Leaky Cauldron Crafty Witches got together to do a thank you package for JKR when the last book came out.  My craft of choice  (ok I know you've guessed but humor me!) was A Molly Sweater for her.

dragonsinger: (qotd crochet)
...and that's just what Molly #14 and 15 are... Mother/Daughter set for [personal profile] hp5freak  and her mum, [profile] lindal . Sorry its this late coming but they are finally done! Will pack up and send soon as I can find an owl for them :)

For others who are waiting I have not forgotten and am working on them as I can, the past few months have just been a bit 'harder' than I expected :)

...Summer Vacation Winter Non-Motivation bout with depression time.  While I've been alternating between battling being sick and battling various firsts (Thanksgiving in November, Dad's birthday December 10, Christmas and New Years)  I really haven't posted much of myself.  Well, finally uploaded two months worth of photos from my cameras and can share a bit of what I have managed to accomplish and been doing with myself a bit.

Did manage to finish three more Mollys (numbers 11, 12 and 13 for those keeping count)  One was for a crafty witches project which I forgot to take a photo of before mailing to [profile] josee_madalia  and the other two were for a swap on HPCrafters

Along with that, Joe and I decided to do Christmas ornaments for our congregation for each Sunday in Advent (four) with something attached to each one explaining the meaning.  One was simple gold stars that sparkled that we found at Walmart in packs of 16 (A star shone in the East).  Others were the Christmas Nail with poem -- simple concrete nails with a red ribbon tied for a hanger.  Also found beaded ornament kits - candy cane and crosses.

Along with this, for Christmas Eve, we found snowglobes with the nativity in them for each family.  Small church which made it rather doable.

Christmas was nice here as the congregation decorates for the season and it was really nice and 'homey' feeling when we went.

Especially with all of my decorations still in storage.  Maybe this year I'll be able to move and decorate again :)

I'll do a squee mail catch up post later and also one about our weekend adventures last week later!

Ok, not only did my sock kit swap box arrive but so did a surprise package from Shae containing a pair of her awesome paper dolls and a purse all created by her as you can see below:

Molly and Arthur and a dragon purse. Shae rocks!

This is Molly #11 and is heading out to [profile] hpmommy

*toddles off to continue making more*

Another Molly... Molly #10 ready to head to [profile] kimberly_elf

And for those counting... 10 done, a bunch to go :D
dragonsinger: (molly)
Since I last posted what I've been up to.  That's because for the past couple of weeks things have been busy and active and hectic and along with trying to complete mollys for friends, I've also had to complete an afghan for a wedding present by this past Saturday.  Joe had a wedding to officiate at our church and I made this for the couple.

And the gift is done on time )
As well as did their programs and a ceremony booklet for Joe to use during the service and then be a keepsake for them after.

wedding graphics )
Also, have been working on some mollys and mailed out three so far so [livejournal.com profile] kadidid, [livejournal.com profile] overcast,  and [livejournal.com profile] lezlishae  watch your mailboxes!!

Even Umbridge needs a Molly )

::Bites:: )
   Delana! )
Currently just assembled and am putting the trim on[info]kimberly_elf's and have [livejournal.com profile] hpmommy's waiting to be assembled and trimmed.  The body for [livejournal.com profile] hp5freak's is almost done and will be starting another batch of sleeves as I work on more bodies as well.

Taking a break -- well is it a break if you're working on Mollys as you listen? -- Joe and i went back to Sweet Bay Coffee House in Ft. Smith for the celtic music they have on the second Sunday of the month.  It had been a few months since we'd been there so it was a nice way to relax.

Fiddles and bodhrans and flutes, oh my! )

Now, back to work on Mollys!

ETA: By they way if you are keeping count, that's 9 mollys completed! ETAA: because I can't tell an Lj name from a forum name some days *lol*

On the trip home, stopped in West Virginia at a thrift shop for a break and found an awesome Arthur Weasley type sweater for Joe!

:D  SQUEE!
dragonsinger: (world)
Ok, you know all those photos I would have posted over the past two weeks while I was in Virginia if I had brought the right camera cord with me?  Well here they are!

The coffee shop in Covington.  A really nice place with wifi and good coffee and food.

My son joined his sister and I there.
Of course no trip would be complete without Lady Macbeth and Vladimir the Puffskein :D

Also went to the community college some days and as you can see Jonathan and his friends have fun in their spare time :D

And in the evenings, I crocheted as you can tell from the 50 ashies, 2 molly sweater backs, and 4 molly front panels :D

And what has to be the most wonderful desk set up I've ever found in a motel.  It was at the News Inn, in Bowling Green where I stopped the first time I headed home last weekend.

dragonsinger: (Molly day)
Still in Virginia, at DSLCC again today.  Hospice to come by mom's around 1:30ish and this morning dad actually said he would let them bathe him so we shall see.  He's about the same....though its small changes each day that remind you he's not getting better.

Not getting out of bed at all since Wednesday.  Today asked for his coffee in a plastic mug mom had as the ceramic one he's always used became too heavy for him to hold.  All we can do is make him comfortable, love him....and wait.

Still planning to head for home around 3 ish (EST) tomorrow.  Spent last night on the mollys again

So far have 2 back finished, the both front panels to one and one front panel to the second one.

My eldest is coming over from Roanoke when she gets off work today to spend time with him and I'll get to see her too.

Miss you all
dragonsinger: (Lady Mpontalbon)
... for my wireless connection today.  DSLCC.  It's where I attended and got my AAS in Business Mgmt in 1991 before going on for my BA elsewhere.  And where my son is graduating in May.

Met some of his friends who are really cool and into things I am too.  HP, Anne Rice, music wise.  And they now think he has a really cool mom :D

Dad's about the same.....  though he did sleep through most of the night which was good for mom as it mean't she got to as well.  Still planning on heading back home Saturday afternoon if nothing happens by then.

Have taken pics of coffee shop, Jonathan playing vid games here, Lady M at the coffee shop and here.  The crocheting I've gotten done........... and when I went to upload them this afternoon found out I had the cord to my old camera not this nice new one.  The cord for this is hanging out of the computer at home ^_-  So much for that but will post photos upon return home.

However, have finished the last of 200 Ashies...did 40 since arriving here.  Finished the back to one Molly and half of a second back.  Will be working on that when I get back to mom's.

Miss you all
dragonsinger: (mariuspontalbon)
Yep, been a few days.  Partly because I spent Easter weekend being sick with a cold.  Partly cause I've been keeping busy

This is 4 of the 123 Ashie's I've completed and sent to [profile] ofenjen

Jen is going to be weaving in ends and gluing on eyes for her crewmates in Lumien House.

Finished will be something like this

Although we see the eyes do need to be bigger........  And no, this is not the "secret project"  She and I have been working on!  That's still a secret!

Had some SQUEE mail come from [profile] jewells68 Monday.  A hufflepuff tie, a very pretty Pontalbon scarf, some badge holders for my siggy tag that [profile] lezlishae made for me that I made into a nametag for PR, a mask base AND Vladimir the puffskein!

*cuddles Vladimir*

Oh and did I mention I started two more molly sweaters, got the cap for 4 sleeves done last night!

Now back to the ashies and then at 200, on to green crocheted music notes!!!
dragonsinger: (crochet attitude)
Got some thrift shopping done with some great finds.  Jeans hubby needed, two nightgowns for NOLA in house unity colors no less!

and an interesting celtic looking wood plaque and a St Francis for my garden when I get one!

Friday I attempted to get my sewing machine fixed but was told the price would be way more than worth it.  So guess I'll consider looking for another one instead.  However I did manage to get some craft supplies I needed to finish projects and some yarn in a "lighter shade of pink than I used for Jenn's Molly"  to make yet another Molly for  [personal profile] quietish!

So will be starting on that in the upcoming weeks.

Spent the weekend crafting and as a result there is another version of "300" below!

Even Joe got crafty and so I present to you -- from the Sorceror's Stone....the flying keys!

In the meantime, started a shawl in fun yarn I found at Dollar Tree for the conference. and here's progress so far:

That's the first ball of yarn so far and the one to the side above is a full ball to give you some idea how far I seem to be getting out of one ball of it.

Quite a good weekend!

Today was a complete Harry Potter Mail Day!!!

My HPCrafters Yahoo groups swap package came from my partner for the Try A New Crafts Swap today and it was some awesome items! Aline they are fantastic :D

Then The fantastic [profile] lezlishae  made me the most wonderful Hufflepuff paper doll that I special ordered from her [profile] psychonuttery  journal. You all have to go see her other dolls! They are awesome! Hugs to you Shae and cannot wait to meet you in New Orleans..... Oh and no I still do not have a house assignment for PR yet *grumbles*

I am sooo going to be ordering more of these! Shae your work is awesome.

and these did not come in today's mail but [profile] ofenjen  is making the coolest buttons, both designed and special orders and you can order them through her Etsy Shop. Visit her for your button needs! *runs off to order a Marius one :D

Spent the weekend working on odd projects. [profile] ofenjen  and I have a bit of a secret project going for PR and to that end, my hubby was drafted to assist with some needs. So dear that he was, he managed to accomplish this for us.

Thank you honey :) Course while he worked on that, I worked on my project for the HPCrafters Yahoo groups Creature Swap that's coming up next.

Hopefully tomorrow the supplies I ordered will arrive and I can also begin working on my ATC Swap for the HP Crafters Rendevous ATC Swap. As well as begin working on my mask for the Masquerade Ball and also for the PR Swap that the HPCrafters Yahoo groups is doing.

OH and I also finished a size 3-5 Molly...erm at least I hope its a size 3-5!  Won't know till it gets mailed this weekend and arrives in Canada!  Will post photos once my camera batteries recharge!
dragonsinger: (Default)
Crochet is fun and relaxing.  However when one is reducing a pattern to fit a size 12-14 down to fit a size 3-5, it requires some serious serious figuring and counting.  Since Joe wanted to enjoy brunch again at Kelt's in Altus, I decided a nice quiet pub was the perfect place to begin the project with relaxing harp music in the background.  So here's the counting

1 Guiness )

2 Guiness )

3 Guiness )

Four! )

Managed to get the back done and then started on one of the front sides!
