I'm allergic to various metals, so all I can wear is silver. :-)

I'm slightly sensitive to base metals/nickel... so I wear vermeil or silver usually - gold when I can get it ;)

I've had my ears pierced twice and have had such bad reactions that I've had to let them grow back in. But then, now I've met more people with piercings besides ears, I'm also finding that some of the problems I've had are common to people who have had their ears pierced with a gun, so I'm debating getting mine redone at an actual piercing place.

I'm slightly sensitive to anything but sterling silver and gold, but I don't have any adverse reactions to other common jewelry metals.

I had to let the piercing in my upper left ear close due to some really weird knot that just would not go away. I still have the scar. =/

I have difficulty with piercings when they say buy this stuff and us it but the last holes I got in my ears I used alcohol and paroxide and no problems what so ever.

Two piercings in each ear. Don't know of any specific allergies, but I do react sometimes to cheap earrings, more so in the upper holes than the lower ones. Treating with witch hazel usually takes care of it. Didn't get them pierced until I was in college, and I've left it up to P if and when she ever gets them pierced. Meanwhile I found a great tutorial for magnetic earrings for non-pierced ears.

I've had 5 (?) holes in each ear, all of them get angry after being pierced for a while, no matter what kind of jewelery I wear. Not sure if I'm allergic, or my ears just hate being pierced.

I've let 3 holes in each ear close up, I can still put earrings in some, but not for too long because they get angry quickly. Oddly enough, my septum ring has never had any type of reaction and I've only got stainless steel in there.

I had my ears pierced when I was 14. Two years later I developed a contact allergy to metal. Sadly, I can't wear earrings, necklaces or watches to this day (and I'm 48 now). I can wear bracelets as long as they're fairly loose. For some reason, no problem with most rings, though that wasn't always the case. I only started wearing rings again when I hit about 30.
